The Acton Agua Dulce Library is open and welcoming patrons living in Acton and the surrounding area. Current hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday. The library is closed on the weekends. Come celebrate all that makes your West Lancaster home great at the Block Party of the Decade. This much anticipated celebration on the boulevard will take place on Saturday, December 1st, 2021 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Come on down to Lancaster Blvd. between Cedar and Fig Avenues to take part in the celebration. Bring family and friends for an evening of music, food trucks, a beer garden, and fireworks. At 5 p.m. The Eiffels will start out the celebration with their unique sound that combines rock and pop. This group has been featured in Netflix’s Kissing Booth 2 and has a new single out titled “Sometimes,” After The Eiffels, the Plain White T’s will be live in concert at 6:30 p.m. This group is best known for their #1 hit song “Hey There Delilah.” The stage will be situated at Ehrlich/Elm Avenue. Music and Fun Is Slated Near West Lancaster Homes In addition to live music, there will also be food, a beer garden, and children’s activities. The children’s activities will be located between Date and Cedar Avenues, food will be found west and east of Ehrlich/Elm Avenue, and the beer garden will be west of Ehrlich/Elm Avenue. Fireworks will go off at 7:55 p.m. There will be something for everyone and it will be a fun evening to celebrate calling West Lancaster home. This event includes the 5K and10K Fun Run and the 1K Gobble Wobble. Participating in this events not only helps you get in shape and burn calories, but it also supports the Antelope Valley YMCA. By running in a race, you don’t have to feel guilty about eating too much pie later that day at your Acton home. All runners will receive a race t-shirt, finisher’s medal, and swag bag. In person registration and pick-up will take place at the Antelope Valley YMCA on November 23rd from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The 1K Gobble Wobble takes place on November 23rd at 4:30 p.m., and the 5K and 10K Fun Run will occur on November 24th at 8 a.m. and 7:45 a.m. If you’d like to run with your dog, sign them up! They can run in the 5K or 10K. The cost to register a dog is $15 and all dogs that reach the finish line get their own dog medal. Early bird registration has ended, but you can still sign up to run. Currently, the cost is $45 per person for the 10K Turkey Trot, $35 per person for the 5K Turkey Trot, and $15 per person for the 1K Gobble Wobble. You can form a team, join an existing team, or register as an individual. No matter which way you choose to participate, you can feel good that you are getting exercise and supporting a worthy cause. This event is filled with community history and fun. It brings together citizens, local business owners, volunteers, and community leaders. Don’t miss out. All proceeds will benefit the Antelope Valley YMCA, which supports the community with programs, classes, and services. This free event will take place on Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come to Lancaster Municipal Stadium, located at 45116 Valley Central Way in Lancaster, to take part in this fun event. All activities are powered by The Children’s Center of the Antelope Valley. This festival features musicians, interactive creation stations, high-quality artists, community resources, grassroots support, social activism, food, and lots of fun. Expect to dive into art, creativity, and movement. There will be many hands-on activities and opportunities to discover more about different cultures for people of all ages. After visiting all of the art creations stations, attendees will receive a voucher for a free meal from one of the food trucks at the festival. There are many great Halloween events available to those living in Lancaster real estate. If you are a fan of cars, trucks, and bikes, come to the Palmdale Sheriff’s Boosters Trunk of Treat and Car Show. This event will take place at Poncitlan Square on Sunday, October 30th, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Come check out this popular event that is in its 7th year. There will be numerous vendors here. In addition, find food trucks, live entertainment, a kids costume contest, and loads of free candy. Bring your kids in their costumes and enjoy a safe and fun Halloween event. In addition to the Halloween fun for the kids, there will be a car show. Expect to find bikes, cars, and trucks. There is no registration to include your car in the show. Just show up at 8 a.m. and pay $20 at the door. Meet other car enthusiasts and make connections in the community by participating in the car show. Poncitlan Square is located at 38315 9th St. E. in Palmdale. It’s a short drive from any Lancaster real estate. This park was developed in 1998 and is located in the heart of the Palmdale Civic Center. It’s part of the Chimbole Cultural Center and spans two acres. Find beautiful landscaping, trees, grassy areas, a water fountain, gazebo, and benches. In addition, you can explore the park and appreciate the natural beauty on the walking and jogging path. Enjoy the beautiful California weather by participating in this outdoor Halloween event. Also keep an eye out for more events at Poncitlan Square throughout the year.
